First Impressions: Teaching at Eliroi in Karanga

Back classroom of the Eliroi Nursery School. . . this small room usually fits ~20 or so students a teacher and a CCS volunteer.

At the head of the class: Teaching simple addition in the front classroom of Eliroi.

Livin using both his mouth and his hand during drawing time.

Livin nails his photo op.

Deborah is fascinated by camera’s and wanted nothing more than to have a picture of her taken.

Livin with his buddies Augustino and Isaac.

Although the school and its supplies are very modest the kids really make the best of every day and come to school with an open mind, enthusiasm, and readiness to learn!

The kids join us for a ride home in the CCS van. We all pile in “dala dala” style (daladala’s are the local form of bus transportation consisting of a van that ~30 people are fitted into, where 11 would normally sit... but it is very cheap).
